This is currently the most comprehensive IFR platform in the sim. If you enjoy the odd business jet operation (and I think they're great - all the speed and tech of an airliner but you actually get to fly into smaller airports with interesting procedures) then check out the Working Title CJ4 mod. That doesn't mean you're stick just flying VFR though. What it won't do at the moment is hold so not an option for Midweek Madness! It's maturing fairly quickly and if you know how to deal with the MSFS quirks it's good for a VATSIM flight maybe 80% of the time. If the aim is to fly airliners then MSFS is definitely not going to replace either P3D or XP any time soon - the only good option at the moment is the flybywire A32X mod. I use both P3D (obviously not relevant if you're on XP) and MSFS for different things. A (near) payware-level simulation FOR FREE tosses anything P3D (bang for buck) could ever do and this route is cheaper than buying the base MSFS.īut why take my word when you can try it for yourself? XP11 has a demo that allows for 15 minutes of flight in any aircraft (even the Zibo) in the Seattle area and Xbox is running a 3-month Gamepass promo for $1 for the whole 3 months with MSFS is included in that.
Money-wise, XP11 with the Zibo 737 is UNBEATABLE value. Right now, I've relegated it to my VFR/C172 IF sim for these reasons. I will say, however, that the G1000/G3000 mods take its Garmin game way above what XP11 has. Right now, besides some VFR and eye candy and without mods MSFS is pretty shockingly bad. MSFS in its current state has that potential, but it has some major drawbacks. X-Plane 11 is designed from the ground up to be a realistically modeled flight simulator. From a good amount of experience with both I'll say this:
